A: Bag-in-box filling technology is different from bottling technology. BIB filling is a process where Alfa Laval provides filling equipment for liquid food and beverages to be poured into a plastic bag in volumes ranging from 3 to 20 litres up to 1,000 litres. BIB has shown to have a better carbon footprint compared to liquid food and beverages that use glass and PET bottles.

A: Beer-in-box filling is a process where the beer is decarbonated by passing through membrane filters, then filled into 25-litre BIB. The BIB can be connected to a special draft system where the beer is recarbonated and served on draft.
