Steritank aseptic tank module

Safely store liquid and viscous food products after sterilization in the Alfa Laval Steritank aseptic tank module. This intermediate buffer tank enhances quality, enabling products to flow directly to the filler without recirculation through the sterilizer. Process flexibility is enhanced, enabling adaptation to production variations or planned downtime. Fully integrated with aseptic line equipment, it meets the most stringent hygienic requirements of the dairy, food and beverage industries.

Improve product quality and safety with versatile and reliable aseptic tank module

  • More production flexibility due to the broad range of tanks sizes and options
  • Product safety due to reliable buffering that does not compromise any aseptic characteristics
  • Easy to operate, easy to maintain with service kits for preventive maintenance
  • An integral part of Alfa Laval’s complete aseptic line comprising sterilizers, aseptic tanks and aseptic bag-in-box fillers
  • Global presence and expertise backed by skilled local service network

The Alfa Laval Steritank aseptic tank module for liquid food processing applications improves product quality and safety. After sterilization, it stores fluid food products and transfers them directly to the aseptic filling area. There is no need to recirculate products through the sterilizer.

The module is robust enough to operate reliably under difficult processing conditions such as absolute vacuum and pressures of up to 6 bar (87 psi). Thorough cleaning-in-place occurs between batch storage, ensuring a contaminant-free product and process environment.

Versatile and customizable, the Steritank aseptic tank module comes in various heights and diameters to meet most any process requirement and fit into the space available. It is possible to integrate the module with Alfa Laval aseptic magnetic mixers for hygienic duty.

How does the Alfa Laval Steritank aseptic tank module work?

After flowing through the aseptic valves, the product is forwarded to the filler using either sterile air or nitrogen pressurization. Automatic pressure control maintains the feed pressure required by the filling machine. When bag replacement is needed or the filler cannot receive the product, the product level in the buffer rises. Once the filler is ready to receive the product, the overpressure in the buffer tank transfers the product to the filler.
